If a dental bridge does not fit properly, food debris can collect under the bridge. Over time, harmful bacteria feed on the sugars and starches, irritating the bone and gum tissue. Pain underneath the bridge can be an indicator of decay.

Please contact us if you notice changes in the fit or comfort of your bridge. We can provide a replacement and treat signs of tooth decay or gum disease before they worsen.

How many teeth can dental bridges replace?

Dental bridges typically replace one to four consecutive teeth. If patients have more missing teeth, we will recommend a partial denture. Partials can replace multiple rows of missing teeth in different parts of the mouth.

What are the benefits of implant-secured dental bridges?

Traditional dental bridges sit on the gums. Alternatively, implant-secured dental bridges use natural tissue for support. Dental implants consist of posts that fuse with the jaw bone, creating a stable foundation for restorations like dental bridges. Implants also improve biting and chewing function, allowing patients to eat the foods they enjoy without difficulty.

Dental implants also help prevent bone loss. Because traditional dental bridges lay on the gums, they do not offer support for the jaw bone beneath the gums.

How much are dental bridges?

The cost of your dental bridge will depend on the type of bridge, how many teeth the bridge replaces, and whether or not you receive dental implants. We can provide a quote for your treatment after a thorough examination and consultation.

Who is a good candidate for dental bridges?

Patients who are missing teeth but are in good oral health are good candidates for dental bridges. If patients require a tooth extraction, periodontal therapy, or root canal treatment, we will wait until they are fully healed for restorative treatment.

Additionally, we will recommend bone grafting if patients want implant-secured bridges but do not have enough healthy bone tissue. We help patients ensure their candidacy for restorative treatments. so they can improve their smiles.
