In just one visit, we can design, fabricate and then immediately place a porcelain dental crown. You will be able to eat and drink normally following your appointment with little to no pain or sensitivity. The benefits of same-day dental crowns using CEREC include the following:

The CEREC same-day restoration procedure will begin with tooth preparation. Dr. Sheen will then take easy and convenient digital impressions of your teeth. When your custom restoration is designed, we will send it on to our in-office milling system. Using the CEREC milling machine, your ceramic restoration will be fabricated right in our Annapolis dentist office while you wait.
Once complete, Dr. Sheen will place your crown, inlay, or onlay then make adjustments for fit. This is to ensure that your crown will blend with your smile and provide a comfortable and stable bite.
After both you and Dr. Sheen are happy with the fit and appearance, the process is completed after the restoration is permanently attached and polished for a natural appearance and smooth surface.
Are CEREC crowns as good as traditional crowns?
Yes. Same-day dental crowns made using CEREC technology are as good as traditional crowns. Although, CEREC crowns can only be made of porcelain material, whereas traditional crowns can be made of different materials. CEREC same-day crowns are the most natural-looking restorations offered today.
Does insurance cover CEREC crowns?
Yes. Your dental insurance provider can elect to cover part or all of the cost of CEREC same-day crowns. How long do CEREC crowns last?
CEREC dental crowns can last for about 10 to 15 years. This is an average estimate. The life of your dental crown can be longer or shorter than 10 to 15 years, depending on how well you take care of the restoration. Although the restoration does not need special care, you can elongate the health of your crown and teeth with diligent dental hygiene and routine visits to the dentist.
